The Society meets on the first Wednesday of each month, except for July and August, as this would interfere with the important task of fishing! "Dipping the Lines in the Water" starts at 6:30 p.m., while dinner is served at approximately 7:00 p.m..  At the meetings, we discuss such matters as fishing reports, tips and tricks, followed by a presentation by our guest speaker.

UPCOMING ACTIVITIES

25 April 2009: Kids Day
We will be teaching the art of angling to all those kids that are wanting to learn.  Additionally, we will be having a BBQ, and teaching about sustainability and environmental issues!

26 April 2009:  Trout Waters Customer Appreciation and Fly Casting Days
Trout Waters have scheduled their Fly Casting Day for Sunday,  26 April 2009. Many club members attended last year and it was well worth it. Both single hand and spey casting instruction will be available. Trout Waters is holding their Customer Appreciation Days on 2 - 3 May 2009. We will plan to have a Lonely Loons membership drive/fly tying  demo on these days. I am looking for volunteers. We will not be holding  a club's Adams River Fishout on this weekend.

29 April 2009: Lonely Loon Club Meeting
We will have Gordon Honey as our presenter.  O.k., this is tentative, but stay tuned to find out more!  Be sure to confirm your attendance by clicking the link above!

2-4 May 2009: Trout Waters Customer Appreciation Day
We are looking for volunteers to "hang out" at the store, and put on a demonstration for fly-tying! Not only is it going to be a great time, but we might even have some fun!

3 June 2009: Lonely Loon Club Meeting
We will have Gord Silverthorne as our presenter.  O.k., this is tentative, but stay tuned to find out more!  Be sure to confirm your attendance by clicking the link above!

5-6 June 2009: Kane Lakes Fishout and BBQ
The best part about Fishouts is that you just show up! We have some fun, great stories are told by the fires, and lo' and behold, we even do some fishing!  If members have suggestions regarding Fishouts, please send them to me. We will be looking for volunteers to organize individual Fishouts. Good to see you out there, and let us know in advance!

20 June 2009: Kids Day at Bear (Lambly) Lake; Fishout and BBQ
What can we say? We want to get the youngsters hooked on angling as well.  That and it provides a great opportunity for us to get away and do some fishing ourselves?! We will be looking for volunteers to organize individual Fishouts. Good to see you out there, and let us know in advance!

12 July 2009: Hatheume Lake Day Fishout
For such a popular location we find that going on Sunday is the best option for us. That and one of our Exec was unable to do it on the Saturday!   Good to see you out there, and let us know in advance! (Is that phrase overused yet?)

26 July 2009: Glen & Pat's Annual BBQ
O.k., as web master, I used my powers of persuasion to convince them to have the BBQ at the end of July, instead of partially into August.  If I get overruled, then who knows what will happen next. This BBQ is only open to members, so we suggest joining the club or else!

The Society organizes many informal "Fishouts", where members and their families have a fishing weekend together at some of the better (and sometimes secret) fishing lakes in the area.
