A welcome from Brenda Bryan .Dear Friends, Our goal at the ILRC is to provide information, referral, peer support, skills training, and advocacy to people with disabilities throughout the BC Interior. We do not presume to understand all of the issues and complexities that you may be dealing with in your daily lives, but whatever your issues we are here to support, encourage and advocate on your behalf. Our staff and volunteers are people who really care about you. They may be able to provide you with information, ideas or options you may not known about or they can just be there to listen. Many years ago when I was in need, people from my community reached out to me in friendship and support and we would like to do the same for you. Call, come in to the Centre, email us but whatever you do take a risk and reach out to someone. Below is a statement of the principles on which we founded the ILRC. Please browse these pages to see what resources we can provide for you, and to discover how you can join our efforts to enhance the lives of people with disabilities through independent living. With sincerest best wishes, |
